Privacy
Gardner looks after your Mac without looking at you. This page covers the Gardner app and the gardnermac.com website. Questions go to hello@gardnermac.com.
The app
- Your files stay on your Mac. Every scan, and every explanation from Apple Intelligence, runs on your Mac. Nothing about your files, apps, processes or sound is sent anywhere.
- No analytics, no tracking. The app has no analytics, crash reporting or advertising code.
- License checks. When you activate, check or free a license, Gardner sends Polar, our payment provider, your license key, your Mac's name (so you can tell your Macs apart in your Polar account) and a one-way hash of its hardware ID. This happens at most once a day, and only when you open Gardner.
- Update checks. At most once a day, when you open Gardner, it downloads a small list of releases from gardnermac.com. That request carries nothing beyond what any web request does (such as your IP address).
The website
- Analytics. gardnermac.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help. Google may set cookies to do this. You can block it with any content blocker and the site still works.
- Hosting. The site runs on Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs for security and reliability.
Buying Gardner
Polar handles checkout as the merchant of record. Your name, email and payment details go to Polar and its payment processor, never to us directly; we see your email and order so we can help with your license. Polar's own privacy policy applies to that data.
Your choices
Email hello@gardnermac.com to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. We don't sell or share personal data, and we keep it only as long as your license or the law needs.
