How Gardner tends
Looks, thinks,then asks you.
- 01
It looks
Each time you open it, Gardner checks Downloads, apps, caches and what's running.
- 02
It thinks
Apple Intelligence reads what each thing is, right on your Mac. No account, no AI bill.
- 03
It asks
You see why each item can go. Nothing moves until you tap.
Rules it can't be talked out of
- Trash first, Restore any time
- Your files never leave your Mac
- Unsaved git work is never touched
- Never ends a process on its own
- Apple's apps and running apps are off limits
- No scanning while it's closed

Good to know
Fair questions.
What do you mean by free AI?
Gardner uses the Apple Intelligence model already included on a compatible Mac. There are no AI credits, API keys, or extra AI charges. Gardner itself is a one-time purchase, with a one-day free trial of every feature. After the trial, scanning and recommendations still work; tidying and sound controls need a license.
Does anything about my files leave my Mac?
No file details are sent to a cloud AI. Apple Intelligence processes them on your Mac. Gardner connects to Polar, our payment provider, to activate, check, or deactivate your license.
What if it clears something I needed?
Files go to the Trash first, and Restore puts them back where they were. Free permanently removes only the files Gardner moved. Docker removals can’t be restored and are marked as permanent before you confirm.
Will it remove my apps on its own?
Never. Apps you haven't opened in months are listed with Apple Intelligence's read of what each one is, but none is ticked; you choose. Apple's apps and anything running are never listed, and removed apps go to the Trash.
Which Macs does it run on?
Macs with Apple Intelligence, on macOS 27 or later. Without Apple Intelligence it runs in a basic mode that uses careful rules instead.
How does the license work?
You pay once and get a key by email and in your Polar account. Paste it into Gardner's settings. It works on up to five Macs, and you can move it from one Mac to another at any time.
Is this a subscription?
No. One payment covers every update through version 1.
What's next for Gardner?
More small tools to look after your Mac. Gardner stays a single menu-bar app, and new tools arrive as free updates.
